The Canadian military has been warned internally that there's no guarantee the aging search-and-rescue planes it uses will be able to keep running until 2015

    SAR should be done by a civilian agency or agencies, and they should be in place for the Olympics.

    It doesn't matter who does SAR, so long as their equipment is adequate. I hope the new C-130Js Harper promised will be delivered in time to take some of the load of the Buffalo. Then it wouldn't matter if the replacements don't come until 2015.
