I got XP on this computer I bought in November. Vista is too much program for most computers. I got a Dell XPS but wasn't about to take any chances on vista even though it would run fine. XP still has some errors but I'd still have to say I'd give it a 85-90/100.

I've decided to wait for Windows 7. The release for that should be in 18 months or so. XP will do fine until then.

I like XP. Never had a single problem with it.

I've got Vista on a laptop and while I've yet to have any issues with it, I do miss the familiarity of XP.

I've heard there are major companies that have declined to upgrade to Vista in favor of waiting 2 years and simply grabbing Windows 7 :)

I'm keeping my 9 year old computer running on XP till the computer dies.

Which will hopefully be after the system better then Vista comes out.

Or I may finally just switch to Apple and save myself from Microsoft's bullshit...

Or buy a PC and use Ubuntu Linux. Unless you're a gamer of course, then you should keep up with XP as long as possible.

Waiting for Windows7? Are you freakin' retards? You "waited" 6 1/2 years for Vista. Upgrade your software & hardware if it won't work.
    Or buy a Mac

I'm not buying a entire new system just so I can use microsofts (not so) latest and greatest OS. I wasn't "waiting" for Vista. I was waiting for an OS clearly superior to XP and Vista is not it.

Just who the hell buys an operating system anyways? I don't work computers so I can run an operating system. I run applications: CAD/CAM, Spredasheets, word procesors or desktop publishing. The OP is simply the foundation and I don't care if it's got bells and whistles up the yin-yang as long as it's stable, has a msall footprint and is fast, none of which are Vista.

Microsoft has done a lot for comuters and conectivity but their really being tyranical now with Vista.

I use to wonder why games were going to more console games then PC related and here is why. Gamers will stick to XP always, with Vista as a last resort or just ditch PC gaming all together as vista isn't worth it. Unless Microsoft gets a new compatable gaming version of vista, there is no future for PC gaming. People should start developing games for Apple.
