The head of the KISS Army shed a tear for Canada's army during a message for our troops. "I'm speechless. We had to pause the camera so he could have a moment. He's quite a person,"

"And they deserve your respect because they have earned it. The rest of us just yack, they walk the walk."

    Amen Gene

Milburn ended the session by asking for Simmons's autograph for his wife, to which Simmons, upon hearing her name, replied, "Oh yeah, I remember her."

I wonder if he has the same respect for the rescue workers, fire fighters and ER nurses that save our lifes on a daily basis too.

No offence to the soldiers, but "the rest of us yack", sorry, I find that disrespectfull to the people that try to do good here and risk their lifes for us in our own country.

Hes referring to the many "E-soldiers" out there who rant, rave and complain on the internet/letters to the editor/watercooler without doing a DAMN thing about it.... the fact that he made the statement after drawing attention to the soldiers at the back of the room should have made that obvious.

Had there been Police and Firefighters back there he MAY have said the same thing but we'll never know now will we....

How bout just taking it as it was intended rather than twisting it into a "what if" situation?

No no it doesnt cause I can appreciate an HONEST gesture about a subject thats close to the hearts and minds of Canadians from someone that doesnt even live here.

The soldiers were there, they caught his eye and he acknowledged their effort - thats it.

I take it you are commenting on me?
    You should have read better.

I am not talking about the soldiers, I am talking about Gene Simmons. Wil might think that it is some honest thing, I think he needs the publicity, and doing that over the backs of the soldiers, is cheap.

I guess we better agree to disagree here.

Our soldiers do deserve our utmost respect as they lay their lives on the line every day. Well done Gene Simmons, you rock, in more ways than one.

Brendra if you knew how much time Gene puts in supporting the US Military you'd realize your barking up the wrong tree. So it would only be natural for him to say a few things about ours. He doesn't do it for the pubicity so I guess thats why you haven't heard about it.

Next time you thank a nurse for risking her life to save you, maybe mention the cleaning lady that comes in and cleans up your puke so you don't have to smell it all day. And don't forget the people in the basement that try to cook you a decent meal while trying to stay on a shoe string budget.

Thank you for making my point ;-)

And, no, it is not natural to mention Canadian troops while always mentioning US troops.

Whenever I mentioned a dead Dutch soldier here, it was not important, remember?

I take exception to the reference to thanking the nurse.. there are many male nurses out there... quit steriotyping... and I dont recall any cleaning lady cleaning up puke.. at least not in Ontario or Quebec.. its the nursing staff....
as for thanking and respecting.. should be applied to anyone doing his/her job... and yes our soldiers need our support... I hope the assholes that demonstrated in Toronto this past week-end and the raging grannies.. (with alzheimers) remember our soldiers when they march to bring Khadr home... which should never happen...where the hell is the footage of him and his fucking sister yelling about supporting alkaeda?
