I dont see anything wrong with women running in politics, and I would not hesitate voting for a woman, if I thought she was the best choice. The story makes it sound like Dion is just picking women because he thinks women dont have enough of a voice. A woman should represent the party because she represents the wishes of her constituents and is a good politician, not because she has a vagina.

I guess it depends on you're oppinion of the relative worth of you're MP. Are they effective representitives of their riding or are they simply figuregheads for the PMO with little effective power?
Pierre Trudeau quipped that MPs are nobodies 50 yards from Parliament Hill. Considering the centralized power of the PMO, they might not even have that much influence there either.

If its another minority government, they should have some influence, right? I know Cadman had a little pull for a while at least...

Cadman only had pull for that one vote, and he was an independant then. I don't even think Paul Martin fufilled his promise of getting Cadman's street racing bill into law.
