KANDAHAR, Afghanistan -- Canadian pilots are finally flying long-awaited transport helicopters over the Afghan battlefield.

    Too bad no one in government (Liberal or Conservative) was swift enough to figure out that leasing these was a good idea, like oh say, 7 years ago! Still, it's good to know we won't have to bum rides on other nation's helos (especially the ones Mulroney sold to the Dutch).

    Wow, so many years later and we finally get some choppers. We are really fast!

    Though 6 Chinook's are great, that right there can replace helicopters 2x the ammount of the replacements because they can fit a lot more troops in it and carry a lot more. Gotta love the chinooks.

    I rode in a british one a few months ago! It was intense! 'Bout time we had em back!
