Canadians have "had a better deal than anybody else in terms of access to the United States and for that they've paid nothing.

Paid nothing. Can't even respond to arse-holishness like that.
Except to say I hope Obama roots out these fear mongering twats who have Americans hiding under their beds!

    Really now? We've paid nothing?

    let's check that again...

    "Free Trade" with America...

Having to give America our oil EVEN during a shortage/crisis and we also CANNOT build up our own reserves...

Giving them most of our resources and trade...

    Riiiiiiiight.....We haven't paid anything...Jackass.

WE don't have to give them anything. The deal says we can't refuse to sell to them. It doesn't say we must sell to them. If there is product for sale they have a right to buy it that's all that is guaranteed.

    This part was interesting:

The case of Maher Arar also changes nothing.

"I don't think that we're convinced Maher Arar was vindicated or acquitted by your process," he said, referring to the O'Connor judicial inquiry. "What you did was re-evaluate the treatment of Maher Arar and decide that procedural mistakes along the way had been made. That didn't vindicate him from the charge that he was in involved in fundraising for terror.

"People in Canada have turned the man into some sort of national hero, but if you expect the next administration to join you in sending him laurels, I think you're going to be mistaken. Even Barack Obama ... is not going to go near that with a 10-foot pole."

They are obviously still firm on their evidence against him, and that Obama jab was pretty good too.

Canada and the US share a long and close history and you hyper-nationalistic folks
sure sound funny considering the sorts of crap that Canada lets into the country.
