Snow covered the Jebel Jais area for only the second time in recorded history yesterday. So rare was the event that one lifelong resident said the local dialect had no word for it.

This would be why it's now referred to as Climate Change rather than Global Warming. The effects are varied depending on where in the world, and the biggest effect seems to be more extremes and more unpredictability. A mild winter day does no more to prove the theory than a cold winter day does to disprove it.

Let's have a little review of the science of this:

If it doesn't happen in/to the US, it doesn't exist. It is warming in the US, therefore, it is global warming.

    (That was a joke.)

No offense, the change from Global Warming to Climate change reminds me of 1984's chocolate ration change. When Big Brother lowered chocolate rations, they edited out any portions of former newspapers that went against this new change, and even switched it around. So instead of a lowered ration, they were celebrating a higher ration which didn't exist. So instead of Global Warming, we now have Climate Change, in which now any event can be a part of.

Gee. And I thought the UAE was exempt from Kyoto because they were a "developing country".

Nah. They dont believe in any kind of global climate change. But I don't think they really believe the rest of the world exists either. (That was a joke too.)
