The violations stem from a Feb. 8, 2007, incident in which the company's Saint John mill released black liquor, a by-product of the pulp and paper process that is harmful to fish, into the St. John River.

I am sorta surprised to hear this sorta thing about Irving Oil or Irving Pulp & Paper, they are generally pretty good with regards to enviromental controls.

    Dalhousie NB and St. George.

Kenneth Colin Irving (or K.C.) kept a tight ship and employed many Maritimers.

Maybe some people should be a little more hasty on biting the hand that feeds them during tough times...

a five minute search thru CBC.

I would love to find the archives for the 70's.

Trit, no doubt Irving built a nice little empire for themelves.
But please dont try to imply they are some kind of environmental angels.
    It's a business.
