if the young people I see everyday had a quarter the abition this guy has , instead of the give me attitude, we wouldn t be in a recession

I don't understand why cities don't have a program in place like this - people sitting in the streets all day, they might as well be doing something other than sitting in one spot bumming money.

Have them sign up, get a broom and some garbage bags in the morning, have a truck drive around and pick up the full bags - the person could get paid a certain amount per full bag of garbage, so they can work as much or as little as they like. Hell, even have them sort the plastics, glass, and metal for extra cash.

City unions have not complained about Giesbrecht, but if enough people were to take to cleaning the streets free perhaps that would change.
Fuck unions.
