    THere is a lot to this. We have become too intralled with flash and the glimmer of Glamour often to the point that we don't see anything else. Its what is underneath the glitter is what counts.

    Yeah, but these shows are taking it too far in the other direction - Susan Boyle is a decent singer, but I don't think she's particularly amazing.

    I think it's appalling that people think it's so incredible and noteworthy that an person is both unattractive and talented.
