OTTAWA - The country was left teetering on the brink of election Thursday after all three opposition parties denounced the minority Conservative government's latest progress report on its economic recovery plan.
Personally, I didn't understand the report, to many big words and not really set-up in a fashion that makes it easy to read and understand.
As for government commitments, I knows of atleats one project that needs another 400 million to get it off the ground, but the government refused to commit anymore money than the 350 million allotted (out of a 1.4 billion dollar project). Evergreen Line. Thing is, the money allotted by the feds was announced long before the reccession. So none of the new infastructure spending has gone towards the project, which theorietically could start next month if someone could fill the 400 million dollar hole.
