McGuire's attorney, Geoffrey Feiger, said his law firm filed a lawsuit against United and Trans States, alleging negligence, false imprisonment and distress

False imprisonment? Puhleeeeeeze. Can we possibly stretch this any more? I'm thinking that little tidbit was thrown in there in hopes of receiving enough to cover the cost of her pity party.

This should be laughed out of court. I'm not sure how one can be asleep through the landing and the other passengers departing, unless you are drunk or took a sleeping pill (which is not the airlines fault).

We love to sue, you can get millions.

There are times when going to court is the right thing to do, but this?

The idea of a lawsuit seems a little sideways here but seriously, what the fuck was the crew thinking? Would they have left her on-board if it was just a 30 minute stop over before the flight continued?

To be a United Crew member you only have to be able to spell you name right 3 out of 5 times. Seriously, they are the dumbest out there and the worst service-wise. Best I've seen on a United Flight was a flight attendant start yelling a an Asian family in front of the whole coach class "You Chinese (i'm certain they weren't) are so damn annoying why don't you just go back where you came from?"

And of course there is this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5YGc4zOqozo

Uniiited, Uniiiited, Uniiiiteeeed. You broke my Taylor guitar. And you left a blind woman on the plane. And you left a sleeping woman on the plane. Why are these people still in business?

I wonder if she would have "sued" if the aircrew woke her up from her sound sleep?

What exactly would she sue for? What damages would she have suffered?

Ruining a dream? Scaring her because she wasnt ready to wake up yet?

I agree it is pretty stupid to "not see a person" when you check your plane for one last time, but her lawsuit is just as stupid.

An airline's passenger cabin was being served by an obviously gay flight attendant, who seemed to put everyone in a good mood as he served them food and drinks.
As the plane prepared to descend, he came swishing down the aisle and announced to the passengers, "Captain Marvey has asked me to announce that he'll be landing
the big scary plane shortly, so lovely people, if you could just put your trays up, that would be super."

On his trip back up the aisle, he noticed a well-dressed rather exotic looking woman hadn't moved a muscle. "Perhaps you didn't hear me over those big brute engines. I asked you to raise your trazy-poo, so the main man can pitty-pat us on the ground."
She calmly turned her head and said, "In my country, I am called a Princess. I take orders from no one."
To which the flight attendant replied, without missing a beat, "Well, sweet-cheeks, in my country, I'm called a Queen, so I out rank you.
    "Tray-up, Bitch."

If the plane was locked and she couldn't enter the exit runway..then ya she was technically imprisoned... she was restrained. The other point is that they couldn't have done the final check which is a security breach. My sister is a stewardess with Air Canada and they have to check the plane after everyone is out. Its a standard.
