Quit wasting our time with legislation that makes nice headlines but accomplishes sweet fuck all. This is total political grandstanding that will do NOTHING to improve public safety. What's a pardon? Nothing. So these creeps don't get pardons. Big deal. Meaningless. There should be NO RELEASE FROM CUSTODY for pedophiles. EVER. Period. Shit or get off the pot.
Just a question... Lets say, you get a pardon for something you did (not necessarily this, just "anything"), and there is a question on a form if you have ever done something you shouldn't have, and got pardonned for it. Should you answer that honestly with "yes", because if they wanted, they could find out, or can you just say "no", because no one can ever trace it anyway?
I have to sign what they call "Annual Offence Declarations" (one for work and one for officiating minor hockey) and the statement is worded something like "I have the following criminal offences on my record for which I have not been granted a pardon". So, at least for the two organizations that I have to report to, the question is asked in such a manner that having received pardon is the same as never having committed an offence.
