I hope you have a good Christmas day and that Mrs. Claus does too. I like the reindeers names especially Cupids because he is named after a special little boy. How cold is it at the North Pole? Today I bet it is very cold. I like it when you say Ho Ho Ho. You look so jolly when you say that. I have been a good boy this year. I shovelled the deck a little bit for my parents. I will try to give you some eggnog and cookies. It would be nice if I could have a punching bag because I will have something that I could punch on. Have a Merry Christmas Santa.

Some were just heartbreaking, and made our Santa cry. One kid wanted a home for Christmas, they were living in a motel because they'd lost their home. One child apologized for not being able to spell very well. Some were scary. More than one kid wanted a "chopper" for Christmas. That's a slang term for an automatic rifle (AK-47, etc.). A couple left death threats for another volunteer who had made them some promises and didn't keep them-they asked Santa to "chop" her up. Meaning shoot her with an automatic rifle.
Is that one of those "only in America" things?
Somewhere I should still have copies of some of the letters to Santa we got when a group of "underprivileged" kids came through the community holiday attraction I was volunteering at that year. Whenever we cleaned out the mailbox at the end of the day, we'd read the letters to each other.

Reminds me of The Boondocks Christmas episode.
In his letter to Santa he explained to old St. Nick that in the past year he had lost his dog. That he loved her very much and missed her every day. He then told Santa that he had been a good boy and that if Santa could please look for his dog while he was in the area and return her home if he could. That was all he wanted for Christmas. I sure hope this is one wish Santa can help out with.
I have to agree, a youngster asking for an AK-47 for Christmas is extremely disturbing, but on the other hand, I would love to get one for Christmas, or any other time for that matter. It would be a nice addition to the collection.
Aw, man I ask it (Ak-47) every year, 30 bullets to it and one day being out of criminal law penalty, I would make this world much better
