And in seeking to defend themselves, they have become like thier percieved enemy.

The actual law, hyperbole aside, simply allows the State Atty. General to investigate any organization that practices Sharia Law *AND* that is found to support terrorism. Apparently, absent such a specific law, some Muslim organizations are shielded from scrutiny even when found to be supporting terrorism. This legislation addresses that issue.

Perhaps, sometimes you have to fight fire with fire.

Looks like they are seeking to prevent a foreign legal system from gaining
any foothold in Tennessee, as it has in the UK.

States passed laws for using English only for similar reasons.

    And the problem is.... ?

Oh, I'm sure Derby will be along soon enough to tell us how racist the US is.

And how racist we all are, of course.

Seems to me that the intent of the law(s) are clear. Its a legal attack on anybody practicing islam.

Funny how you think that you forsee pogroms against christianity when in fact its christians initiating pogroms first.

There's a big difference between not giving Shariah legal standing (good idea) and making it illegal for people to follow it amongst themselves. (not a good idea). And if Shariah is what's causing people to do illegal acts, there are already laws against those acts, so there's no need for this legislation. But Tennessee better make sure it doesn't give other groups legal standing for their laws, like we do with Hassidic courts in Canada for instance. Doesn't give you much of a leg to stand on.

The third paragraph of the article makes pretty clear it isn't,
maybe you should have read it first.

    Just more broken record BS.

Funny, I see zero mention of the lawmaker's religious affiliations.
Although, if you wanna play the game, a "Christian" federal court judge blocked a similar law in Oklahoma from being implemented.
    Feel better now?

    EDIT BY MOD
It exempts peaceful practice of Islam but labels any adherence to Shariah law - which includes religious practices such as feet washing and prayers - as treasonous. It claims Shariah adherents want to replace the Constitution with their religious law.

Nothing about supporting terrorism, just jailing people who don't follow the state religion which is(was) against a fundamental part of the US constitution.

Except we keep hearing from Bart that their federal judges are all liberal Atheist activist judges. In fact blocking such a law would serve to only confirm his belief. Nice try.

Oh so NOW, you actually take Bart at his word  How conveeeeeenient.
So if it takes a liberal atheist to be open minded and unbiased enough to essentially stand up for religious practices and beliefs, then I can assume you'll finally shut the fuck up about Christianity?
Because according to you, everyone one of the people involved in creating these new "pogroms" are nothing but Christians, of course, there being no mention of any of their beliefs whatsoever, you just decided pulled that tidbit of "information" out of your ass.
So other than the ability to pass laws, what makes you any different than those in TN and OK? Your hatred and bias towards Christianity is far from veiled.
