Notorious killer and former cult leader Roch Thriault has died of injuries suffered in an altercation Saturday at Dorchester Penitentiary in New Brunswick, RCMP say.
I got a half dozen "Did you hear?" phone calls today. The Ant Hill Kids commune was just outside of Burnt River, ON, about 15 minutes from where I grew up. It was quite the story as it evolved back when I was in highschool. I wonder what the kooky broads that have stayed loyal to Roch are going to do now. The saddest part of this tale is the carnage Roch left in his wake. He got a life sentence, but he took dozens more along for the ride.
awww, what a sad story! Poor guy, now he won't get the chance to spend the next 20-30 years locked up.
I am a little on the fence here, because to me life in prison is more of a punishment than the death penalty. So while I don't mind hearing that this lunatic was killed, I also think he got off easy. If I did something really horrible, I would prefer to be executed than to be locked up for 50 years.

Look at it this way, it's one less piece of shit you'll have to pay for to have a place to sleep, clothes to wear and food to eat.

But I guarantee there is another piece of shit that could use the bunk.

The CJS in Canada being what it is, he was likely up for parole next month.
He's had numerous parole hearings over the years. He was NEVER going to be let out.
