But a source told CBC News that only small sections of the fence would be deployed to protect visiting U.S. navy ships, as security for Canadian navy ships isn't considered as pressing.

Security for American ships in Canadian ports is a more pressing concern for the RCN than security for our own ships?

    Um...

Yup. Think about it. Who is the more likely target, and who would bear the 'downside' of an attack on a US ship in our port?

I've always loved the Dartmouth view. But in the last few visits I've had there, I was always concerned that our ships were just 'right there!'.

Ask any American how many of the 9-11 terrorists came from Canada.

Maybe they'd stay true to form and blame it on a country completely unrelated to the incident.

"Joe Bob, where'd our ship get bombed again?"

"I dunno, that country up north."

    "What country up north?"

"The one with a Queen and lots of snow."

    "Denmark?"

    "Yeah, that's the one!"
