WTF? Burying the lead up to this incident with threats is so ridiculous it boggles the mind. It was a tragedy we'd all wish never happened, but thwarting transparency just feeds Conspiratorial idiots.

Actually it makes them not seem like idiots at all.

    I don't get this:

A letter written by the FIL legal counsel speculates on what could happen if such a fatal accident happened again.

It says if certain information about the track is made public, it will "result in international federations not being forthcoming in cooperating with authorities should a similar tragedy take place in the future on Canadian soil."
    :?

That's what I'm saying, this organization is making threats when it should be cooperating to the fullest extent. They seem content to awkwardly sweep the whole incident under the rug and pretend nothing happened. Someone died and it was embarrassing(to say the least) for everyone involved and out of respect for Nodar Kumaritashvili and his family complete transparency is the least they can do.
