Federal officials have told Prime Minister Justin Trudeau that Canada's strategic interest would be well served by strengthening economic ties with oil-rich Saudi Arabia because of its powerful position in the Persian Gulf.
In other word expect the tankers full of Saudi oil that pull into the Irving docks in Halifax to triple or quadruple in number over the next year, no matter how many "they're-not-really-the-proper-kind-of-Canadians-out-West" the Saudis are responsible for putting out of work over the last twelve months.
This is why I quit voting, and that arms deal is why I pointedly refused to support Harper in the October election. Anyone who expects any kind of significant change, much less seeing the new bosses actually standing up for the country against some foreign pricks that basically declared economic war on (and probably wiped out altogether in the space of a few months) one of our primary industries, after an election brings a different party to power is literally a complete fucking idiot. Fuck it. I refuse to participate in this illusion anymore therefore I'm no longer obligated to take the blame for what any of the politicians do or, in this case of doing nothing against an economic enemy, don't do anymore.
I just wonder how Trudeau can reconcile his anti abuse rhetoric for natives when he's apparently quite willing to look the other way to support a regime infamous for it's human rights abuses and dogmatic 13th century religious zeal?
If it was just about human rights, I wouldn't care that much. We'd have to stop dealing with China and lots of other important countries too. But SA is a big factor behind jihad. I wouldn't doubt they finance ISIS or at least got the ball rolling til it got out of control. That's why we shouldn't have any dealings with them. But then keeping the people afraid actually seems good for Western politicians. I think our leaders collude at least to some degree in keeping threats alive and hyping them up.

this one a Canuck elite Marxist bought and owned by Saudis?
