update: watched the whole first season, we've decided we're really not impressed with the show - it's got some interesting parts, but it seems too much like a badly written soap opera. 'Sookie' decides she loves the vampire, then he does something or someone dies and she's all of a sudden seeing the...

I personally don't want to be defending the CHRC, but I have to say that I am not sure that I ever want a government department or commision to come out and debate things. Often, i don't think administrators should be allowed to think of themselves as activists. However, the CHRC should be capable ...

Under those conditions you don't expect Barrack or Michelle to come out publicly against the quote, unquote jokes? Give me a break. I seriously doubt the President of the USA is going to publicly address lewd jokes made by television comedians - why would they? All it'd do is open the flood gates o...

I don't see why the unique lungs and hips couldn't have evolved in birds - obviously at some point birds diverged from other animals and consequently developed unique features, so why is the split necessarily earlier with this discovery? "For one thing, birds are found earlier in the fossil rec...

It was basically just bringing up an old conflict out of nothing, because there was no offer of an actual loan - it was just a reaction by the Greek Culture Minister to a general comment on the radio that the British Museum lends things out.

Well I decided to download it and my girlfriend and I have watched the first four episodes of the first season so far - it's definitely interesting but parts are definitely cheesy, and I unfortunately have to constantly remind myself that this was written before Twilight , and not the other way arou...

Other than suburbanites wanting to pretend they live in the country in spite of their neighbours, you mean.

I didn't say anything about taking more. What I said was reducing tax's and then their first priority is rural fucking roads! Would you consider me fiscally responsible if I had $2000, a bill coming due for $2000, then to be nice I gave a $1000 to a friend, spent another $500 on shoes? Fiscal conse...

You think lowering taxes isn't being fiscally conservative? Not at this moment in NS. That doesn't make sense. Gunnair said he seemed like he was fiscally conservative and you said you disagreed, bringing up the point of his reducing taxes - you might not agree with it, but lowering taxes is still ...

Doesn't work for me either.

Is the show any good, though? I never saw it.

I just came across this clip on Youtube, and I don't know what's sadder - Jimmy Fallon being that excited about having a Saved by the Bell reunion, or "Zack" having to pretend, after 20 years, to still be his childhood character because they don't have anything else to talk about. No wait,...

As long as they are pragmatic like their Western counterparts and don't have any retards like the federal NDP federal party, they could do alright. That's my outlook - wait and see. At the very least, it gives the PCs a chance to ditch Rodney, whom I never liked, and takes away the NDP's excuse tha...

Why should someone be permitted to enjoy their backyard at the expense of someone else enjoying their own? If someone is going to live in an urban/suburban community, they're just going to have to give up some of the freedoms they'd have if they lived out in a rural area. As raydan said, it's entire...
