Any collision that didn't also completely destroy the truck wouldn't have knocked a bridge down, not if the bridge were in any acceptable shape to be safely used. If any impact that barely dented a vehicle was sufficient to cause a collapse then that bridge was going to fall anyway, and most likely...

Spent the last 24 hours trying to get my car fixed. Got a Timmies, came out, fired up the car and took off. Half a block away, *cough* *cough* *croak*. So, had it towed to a dealer, and they won't touch it. Just had it towed to an SVT dealer, and it's 15:00 on a Friday. They won't touch it till Mond...

Wow. So someone owns it, they lost it, it's found again, and they just leave it to rot? Or sink, in this case... Welcome to unfettered Capitalism. If it's cheaper to let it drift and pay a fine if it hits land than to mount a rescue or salvage operation; then it drifts. Don't blame capitalism. If y...

I never thought I'd say this, but JT is almost looking like a good leader. With Harpers negative ads against him, and Senators handing the Liberals a gun; Trudeau has kept silent when he could unload on Harper.

"I believe it is necessary to sacrifice myself to break with the lethargy that is overwhelming us," he was quoted as saying. "I am killing myself to awaken slumbering consciences."

Nothing to see here. Move along. Move along . . .

+1 on that. We don't have earthquakes here, but I've lived through an F4, and it sucked hard. Not a damn thing you can do about the train you are getting run over with.

Meh, it's just a headline. I thought about different ways to post a relevant title on here without the title being so long its cut off in the forum scroll, so I snagged the line from the first para of the article that said: "Ninety-seven percent of scientists say global warming is mainly man-m...

It appears that someone needs to teach these kids that politics is both an ugly and dirty game so you might as well stay at home if you cannot take a little mudslinging. Granted, I dislike the ad because its irreverent tone takes away from its message. Yet I must say that that Justin is in over his...

The days of cheap gas are over. 5 years from now, we'll think $1.50/l gas is a bargain. It's not so irritating that gas is expensive. We know it'll get more expensive as it becomes more scarce. I also don't mind paying high gas taxes to discourage consumption, pay for roads, fund alternative energy...

Huh.....another failure of the media litmus test. It's CBC's fault, unless they break stories about Senator Duffy dontchaknow? Then they are good. And not mentioned. I'd +5 you, but it's too soon. :( Just in case you misunderstood. This is one of those things that DND doesn't like occurring because...
