And the only other alternate method of transport - by rail - is so safe. Give me a well-regulated pipeline any day. I don't believe andyt said anything concerning rail safety. As I read it he's opposed specifically to the present trans mountain proposal and in general to inadequate environmental/so...

When the prosecution drops the ball like this (it is, ultimately their case), it poisons the entire trial. If there is one that he did assault (assuming the remainder were consensual), that one may no longer get justice. Fair enough, but you did say it would be sad if the case failed "regardle...

The really really sad part, is that regardless of his guilt or innocence ..... the entire case could potentially be lost. Peck, why would you say that? Why would it be sad if the (prosecution) case was lost, if he was innocent? That would be justice, no? If - I say "IF" - the behaviours w...

I say it's not fake because nothing is seen to happen, apart from a bear in a cage, a guy thrashing around while we can't see his hand, and a length of blurred footage while the camera is waved wildly everywhere but where the "action" is supposed to be happening. The footage is probably an...

I think big brother is already much bigger than Orwell ever imagined and fast becoming malignantly obese :(. I already have (what many would consider) an "older" car and hope never to need a newer one - only partly because of prices. I wonder how the motor vehicle regulations and insurance...

Wasn't it a cascade of blind adherence to "moral and ethical" commitments that escalated a spat over responsibility for an assassination, into full-fledged world war 1. No it was the last in a long line of conflicting interests and ideas of the future for most of the major belligerents th...

I think it's foolish to "report" that something is "probably" the case. If the truth can't be demonstrated (this guy is a judge!) state what facts have been determined and let people decide the probabilities for themselves. Stupid to publicly offend a foreign gov't when you can't...

You're right as to the causes. But allowing these people to flood into the West will just fark up the Western countries without doing anything for he all the people left behind. That's not demonizing the migrants, just a realistic view of them. And forcibly ejecting them and making it unattractive ...

The ones in Calais come in ones and twos. They are not refugees but economic migrants. They should be sent given the choice of going home or living in a detention camp. Make it seriously unattractive for them to come and they will stop. At Calais, there are already about 6000 living in "The Ju...
