I'm not sure whether to shake my head and wonder what kind of idiot watches this show at 3am, or why FOX of all channels is making snarky comments about an ally's armed forces, when said forces are dying and bleeding in a NATO-led war... Basically "Red Eye", a bitch-fest show on at 3am, mo...

Meh, as much as it amuses me to see the Reps flounder, every party has their period of uncertainty and general headless-chicken-behavior when they lose massive political capital (they did lose house, senate, and presidency, all in 2 years). Look at the Liberals. They went from Chretien/Martin... to ...

It's rather ironic, of course, that a country as famously liberal as Canada would have a conservative government to greet the most left-wing president in modern US history. I wonder how well it compares to Kennedy/Diefenbaker meets? Dief was quite a bit more conservative than Kennedy. Will there be...

I have never gotten the impression in Canada that religion is very essential to politics. I really doubt there would be much of a backlash if an openly agnostic/atheist person ran for PM, but I could be wrong. Hard to tell really. Look at how fast the "you can't approve of gay marriage, you're...

It would be interesting to see what some people from Manitoba think about this. Manitoba has the largest population of Icelanders outside of Iceland. Are there any Manitobans in the house? Former Manitoban. ;) Living next door in Sask. It sounds like the Icelanders living in Manitoba are more conce...

Does it still count if the reason you're taking on water is that you helped drill holes in the hull?

Harper blathered on about how important it was to have an all-party consultation in the House. And both those delays were of his own design. If it was so important, why not consult all the parties outside the house? Why appoint him after 4 months of silence and a single meeting with Iggy?

Sounds like he's really gunning to get tossed in january! You forget how ADD voters can be. By Jan 26th it'll be back to "oh boo hoo, I tried to make parliament work, but those mean ol' Liberals won't let me! whaaaaaa" Speaking of holding up the Coalition as a bogeyman, wasn't Harper whin...

NO "I" in Harper. He wants to rule alone and he's having at it. He and that Williams chap. Oh My! Difference there is, Williams is acting within his own laws (however crazy they may seem) whereas Harper breaks his own laws. People ranted about how Canada was a Banana Republic thanks to th...

So Harper took another page out of the libs 'how to' handbook. Same as he did when he appointed the senators. Why the uproar???? Why not? Are people not allowed to complaint just because "everyone does it"? It probably wouldn't have been as big an issue if Harper hadn't spent the last 4 y...

I should not that I don't disagree with your response at all and I was hoping it was how someone was going to respond. I'm simply saying that the coalition is praying on ignorance of most people. That's all.
Isn't that how most politics works? Smoke and mirrors. ;)

The boogey man is called COALITION to Iggy and his Liberals. Isn't that what I just said? It's a boogey man, and Harper blinked. Now it goes back under the bed as long as Harper plays nice with the budget. Ironically, polls showed that had Harper stood up to the confidence vote and asked for an ele...

For what's it's worth, the coalition bogey-man seems to have worked. Flaherty has been "consulting" with the Libs on budget goals, and the Libs seem pretty satisfied that he's actually serious about working with them on this. The proof will be in the pudding come Jan 26th of course. Then w...

If a government is ever formed in a democratic country it's because it was voted into power by the people in a fair and open election.... The problem is that the coalition denies this ideal.... Most voters going into the voting booth never had the expectation of anything other then electing a one p...
