I'm all for senate reform as long as its done on a national level, not piecemeal by province.

I would like to see that too but it this is legal it will gain acceptence and can lead to a triple E senate.

Why would Grant Devine be eligible to run. Wasn't he convicted of something in the province of Saskatchewan? No, there were others in his cabinet; I think there was as much corruption in the Calvert Government. People were mad at Devine since he's the one who proposed the GST, and HST, but since it...

It's not about being unable to get their act together. They boycotted an illegitimate election. It's not up to Alberta to decide how the upper chamber of CANADA's parliament gets filled. Then why haven't the courts barred it? What is more why haven't the Liberals and NDP worked to pass senate refor...

Now those who seek absolute power, even though they seek it to do what they regard as good, are simply demanding the right to enforce their own version of heaven on earth. They -- and let me remind you, they are the very ones who always create the most hellish tyrannies. Absolute power does corrupt,...

It doesn't matter if they chose not to run. The fact is it was a one party election. Right away, the election removed the franchise from anyone who wanted to vote anything other than right of centre. This is why we need to supprt elections now. If the Liberals and NDP see this as not going away the...

Why? Because our government will represent the will of the people? Because we want senators to have real term limits rather then reverting to age discrimination? Because the west will be equal.

I agree this is a big step if Manitoba, BC and PEI get on board for elections thats the majority. Next step get older Senators to support term limits and end the age 75 limit.

Alberta and Saskatchewan are too different to ever function as a "region." Oil and water, Bill Aberhart and Tommy Douglas. Plus, Saskatchewan would never separate.

However, "clean coal" in my opinion is a bit of a misnomer. When they're talking about "clean coal" they're talking about the sequestration of carbon dioxide. Myself, I don't see why it's a problem, because I don't see CO2 as being dirty. Although "clean coal" is a pro...

What about displacement on demand technologies. First there was the Cadillac V4-6-8 engine in 1982 and International's singe cylinder idle. Now both GM and Daimler Chrysler offer a variety of displacement on demand technologies on larger engines, if they applied this to smaller V-8 and V-6 engines I...

According to Blink by Malcolm Gladwell preconceptions can sub-consciously influence decisions based on hiring. Affirmative action would strengthen these preconceptions. If employers want to ensure equality I think they should require names, sex, age, and other irrelevant information excluded from re...

How is a keffiyah a symbol of terrorism? First off Muslim women don't wear a keffiyah in that fashion, secondly keffiyah's of various colour schemes are worn by professional armies allied to the United States, and protecting US interests in Middle East countries such as Kuwait. The keffiyah is simpl...

Thing about food is that there are shortages due to lack of production. In 3 years there will be major surplus. 2002 was one of the least profialable years in farming lowe then the 1982-2000 when prices are normal, we wil see a small boom simular to 1975-78 then a return. I don't think any country i...
