Well whoever he is, he's not a member of parliament according to the list. And I find it rather suspicious that there's absolutely zero news coverage of this supposed floor-crossing at CBC.ca and CTV.ca (don't have access to a TV at the moment). Perhaps the guy is a staffer in the Liberal Party?

Been there. It's not that hard to get to, 2 hour drive to Fortune from St. John's via the highway, then a 45 minute ferry trip across. Just keep in mind that if you want to go, there is a ferry on Friday to the island of Saint Pierre, and the return trip isn't until Sunday. They have a museum to Al ...

This entire thing is silly - they've been armed since 2004 when the Rush-Bagot Treaty interpretation was amended by both Canada and the United States to allow both countries to arm their coast guard vessels on the Great Lakes with a weapon up to .50-calibre in size. The ban on military vessels remai...

To Greenpeace's credit, they've backed off considerably on the seal hunt issue; though I'll never forgive them for their mistake.

Sensible people who actually read facts, instead of PETA-style propaganda (which, unfortunately, is the only side "animal-rights activists" look at most times), would realize that the seal hunt is perhaps the most humane culling of animals for food and pelts in the world. It's far more humane than s...

We'll be getting the F35 Joint Strike Fighter when the time comes to replace the CF188 Hornets; mainly because we've invested so much money in the program to date already (level 3 or 4 partner in the program - level 1 being the US, level 2 the UK). Personally I would like to see us get some STOVL va...

Just out of curiosity, have any of you ever taken the time to look at your election ballot? Legally, you elect the person, not the party; which is why the party name is in small text after the individual's name. The party may make the candidate more popular by providing him/her a larger funding base...

The so-called "PROVINCIAL" class was never set in stone. It was simply one way considered to alleviate the forthcoming problem of the lack of a command and control ship for our task groups. The idea of extending the Halifax class frigates to make them into destroyers was dismissed because it would b...

Surprisingly, the amount of anti-American bashing on Canadian news channels have decreased considerably over the past several years. Any bashing is directed at people who deserve it, like Ann Coulter and Bill O'Reilly. The vast amount of American issue-oriented documentaries on the CBC are actually ...

I don't like the way the article names the address of the family...it's really a blatant case of wreckless reporting. The safety of the family members of this kid has been compromised by the journalist who wrote that article...let's hope the more hardcore gun-totting patriots in that part of the Uni...

I'm from Lance Cove...the memorial to the crew of the four freighters which were sunk by the Nazis is just down the road (called the Seamen's Memorial). Was a rather exciting event watching the Coast Guard bring the anchor, which is the memorial's centrepeice, up from one of the wrecks years ago whe...
