Yeah, i was looking at bonds but its like 2.15% i think and only increases .15% for every year. That's horrible. So now im undecided between stocks that pay dividends or index funds (mutual or etf)?? i think im going to take your advice lily and make an appointment with my dad's financial adviser...

I bought Johnson and Johnson as well as Procter and Gamble a couple of years ago. They both pay a half decent dividend ( I only buy stocks that pay a dividend) and they have hardly been affected by all this speculative BS, unlike the rest of my stuff. Good job I don't need this stuff for another 20...

Woah, so many different ideas! haha, yea i am just a kid, im 19. and i don't have to worry about school because i have a rich mommy and daddy who pay for it all. XD but yeah its just my extra $4000 from summer work that i'd like to invest before i blow it, and im looking more long-term than anything...

Yeah, i think thats the best option, im going to finish up my degree then see if i still want to join the military... btw im in Vancouver.

I would join reserves to get a taste, then after your degree try DEO (Direct Entry Officer) you do NOT require an engineer or scientific degree to become a pilot (if that is what you want) but it is much easier if you do. If you just want a commission in the Airforce, with no particular trade in mi...

Yeah, i really want to work around aircraft, but then i'd probably need schooling in some aerospace stuff... which i definitely don't have... also does the militia/reserves idea of only being deployed if you volunteer apply to all sectors of the military? (Navy, Army, Air Force)?

So, i have an extra $4000 laying in my savings account... what do you say is the best thing to invest in right now, keeping the dying economy in mind lol. bonds? GICs? def. not stocks, much too erratic right now.

That's a good point, im a Business major, so that won't help me at all around planes lol, hmmm i wouldn't mind the Army either, but that would def. mean not having a comfy bed lol. and i don't expect the military to pay for my schooling, my parents do that... yes, im a spoiled rich kid... your prob....
