AGREED! THERE NEVER WAS ANY TREND BEFORE OR AFTER. Using Hansen's original figures, the degree 1998 was hotter than 1934 was statistically insignificant. NO TREND! NO WARMING! Wow, a shift of a tiny fraction of a degree at some American sites. Check the difference between '34 and '98...then take in...

So the net result we have now is that a pajama-clad blogger is now a scientist who conducts legitimate peer review while legitimate and credentialled climatologists who question AGW are not. Not at all...legitimate and credentialled climatologists who question AGW are perfectly able to conduct peer...

Mann (the original publisher of the "hockey stick") kind of brought this on himself when he didn't readily share his data and statistical methodology (I haven't really looked into this, but this is what I've gathered). The failure here was Mann's reluctance to share. Science relies on a c...

My point is that the proper peer review by credentialled climatologists never took place. The people who are supposed to be doing the science are not doing it. The reviews did take place. The last one, performed by a Canadian blogger, caught that particular error. By the way, it's more likely that ...

I know no such thing. Perhaps you can link to all of these peer-reviewed articles that support your theory.

It's a non-issue. I saw the ad and there is no way that it can be taken as spelling "Porn". "PTORN" perhaps, but even that's a stretch...the letters are unevenly spaced and on different lines. Somebody in the Saskatchewan Party has too much time on their hands, or is suffering fr...

So then everyone on this forum is a scientist now just because they check facts? It depends. Just posting contradictory links from news stories is not science. Checking the methodology, the veracity of the facts, and the data is. For instance if you were to look at the article I linked to last, and...

My point is that had the data been properly vetted and thoroughly reviewed by Hansen's peers then this obvious error would've been found by scientists. Or maybe they paid attention to things that would make a significant difference. Since the error the blogger found was statisically insignificant w...

McIntyre and McKitrick did exactly what you say no one is doing--presetning science that assails the AGW theory. So science is working. Of course their work was ultimately found to be flawed due to misinterpretation and/or misrepresentation of the data. I don't even think my kids will notice it sig...

The problem with the whole warming is, that we probably won't live to tell whether we did it right or not. I mean, if we stop all our emissions now (in theory, of course ), we will not notice anything till years, and probably we will all be gone by then. Most people worry about what the next genera...

So, gentlemen, could you try to explain to me what you think will be the long term effect, and when (or even if) it will cool down again, and what will be necessary for that? How bad and how fast depends a lot on us. If we reduce our emissions, the effects will be lessened. The general long-term ef...

I say the driving force is the rapid spread of indoor plumbing.

While there's no doubt that the manufacture of porcelain emits GHGs, there is no evidence that indoor plumbing itself contributes to global warming. Your hypothesis doesn't fit the data. Go back and re-write it.

The corrections made almost no difference to local readings ( a small fraction of a degree) and had no effect on the longterm data though, Bart. I already the supplied the link showing that. If anything, it strengthened the case for global warming because the theory withstood yet another challenge. ...

This is what you said a few days ago. Now I say the same, and you are giving me an explanation on how science workes. Okay. I wonder how just 25 years ago, the hypothesis was cooling down. That never happened (it was humans too btw) so now it is warming. Sure, it is warming, as it has been for the ...

With AGW we have scientific critics being attacked by their peers as if they were religious heretics. Can you provide proof of that? It looks an awful lot like certain critics have tried to subvert the peer review process because their work does not stand up. Are they being attacked as if they were...
