This war sets a few dangerous precedents, Hollywood. It is a war for control of resources. It is war to get contracts for US-based companies. It is a unilateral invasion with a clearly stated goal of replacing the present regime with one more favourable to US interests. It is a war that almost destr... |

How can you support the war if you don't support the war's premise, Hollywood? I've heard many with your opinion, but couldn't comprehend the contortions needed to justify it. Maybe you can clear things up for me. |

Monte Solberg is an idiot. If he loves the present-day version of Amerika so much I'll help him pack. Maybe we can exchange him for somebody decent. If he had any real contact with the Canadian people he'd know that many of us speak out against imperialism in all forms 365 days a year. Even on x-mas... |

I'll sign that petition. It doesn't really suck that bad for me, except for the Marlboro thing. I have little doubt that the US will come to its senses eventually if we all keep pushing them. I worry about people like Gangrenous though. I have friends in the US...Canadian ex-pats who moved there for... |

Smurfs taste best with mustard and onions...remember that too. :) Sorry, thought we were just putting up random platitudes. Not to turn this thing into a real conversation about public broadcasting or anything, but should Don Cherry have a right to speak his mind about political issues on the CBC? H... |

I'm not sure what Sketch is getting at, but I've been a patriotic Canadian since 1967 or so. There's a picture of me...some square format black and white thing...of me in an Expos hat, an Expo '67 shirt with a Maple Leaf on it, and a little Canadian flag. You can't get much more Canadian than that, ... |

I'm not sure what you would consider the tail. Is it the US's allies or those accidentally affected by US policy? I do know that I have three relatively large, slobbery dogs though. I play the "growlie game" with Emma, who is clearly insane but never bites me when we are playing. Kari sometimes gnaw... |

Moderators should only drink in moderation, RH. I, on the other hand, follow the doctrine that if it's worth doing then it's worth doing to excess. |

The other thing is what your definition of friend is. I expect my friends to tell me when I'm making a mistake and do the same for them. When we tell the US they are doing wrong suddenly we become Soviet Canuckistan. They never take into account that we just might be right, that what they are doing ... |

Sorry boys, but look at the US record over the last 50 years or so. It's got little to do with the military, they just enforce what the government tells them too. The military's attitude is affected by the administration in charge though. The US is not well liked over the face of the globe. Their mo... |

Don Cherry is a moronic prick. Someone should, to quote McLean and McLean, "Slip a c*** over his head and f*** some sense into him." He is a private citizen though, albeit one with a public soapbox, and has a right to speak his mind, agree with him or not. Censoring Cherry puts us on the same level ... |

"JC's peons" are elected federal politicians, Regina. For that matter so are Alliance MPs. I don't question their right to comment, just why they hate Canada so much. 8O Klein was clearly sending a political message to both Ottawa and Washington, as well as the whole international community. In doin... |

So start some new discussions. The invasion is weighing heavily on all our minds right now and I think we could all use a break. The thing is that all of the media is consumed with the war right now...even the local oldies station manages to slip in references to it between Guess Who tunes. I think ... |
