Rev,some of your data about Baker lake talks about a treeline, theres no trees there, most residents have never seen a tree in their life. It's the Baker Lake area, Ziggy. It's large and includes a forested section on it's southern edge. You seem to think you know more about the area than both the pe...

Personally, from what I read in my first language (which is not English, but Dutch) I think we are at the end of an Ice-age, still warming up. I think it is going slightly faster than before, but how much modern-day-living has to do with it, I don't know. The reason it is going a bit faster, is bec...

So why isnt the permafrost melting where I am? It is. In fact the melting of the permafrost has been tied to sudden disappearance of many lakes in that area. The permafrost melts and the lake drains into the surrounding soil. I believe that was included in one of the links I provided yesterday.

Did you just question my intelligence? Nope, just the opposite, actually. You'll notice that I didn't say, "Brenda, you're too stupid to understand the science." I have no idea what level of education you have or how smart you are, but I have found that a lot of people are reluctant to lo...

Let me be very diplomatic here... I think scientist don't even agree... All of the scientists never agree, Brenda...that's part of science. In the case of global warming though, the vast majority of scientists working in the field agree. More importantly, those who disagree tend to be scientists fr...

Only if its backed up with facts, right?

Facts are the way to go. How do you feel about the way those facts are being misrepresented...like the claims about the sun causing global warming when all of the facts point to other causes.

So what do you think about warming, Brenda? Do you understand that there's a bevy of scientific data? Since you're so concerned about accuracy of quotes, how do you feel when global warming deniers cherry pick and misquote what scientists actually say?

You said that there hadn't been any changes in your lifetime and that a person would have to live thousands of years to see any, Ziggy.

Tht doesn't match the available data.

I don't care if he's the king of Never-Never Land, local records were checked and taken into account. They were, and still are, considered to be very valuable. Of course that's not the only thing that was checked. Scientists talked to locals about wildlife, snow and ice conditions, and general weath...

It's part of what they did when they started talking to the locals...checking any available records ke...
