The saddening fact about British muslim extremists is how they prove access to education, which is probably the main path towards integration of immigrants to a society, sometimes just isn't enough. It takes only a few extremists to create a hundred more. I'm not capable of thinking of a good and fa...

Another belated response from a fan here... I just read your "goodbye post", and honestly I felt kind of heart-wrenched inside. In my life I've followed over 25 webcomics, including about 5 or 6 political ones, and Filibuster was not only the one I followed for the longest time (and runnin...

I was 9 when Netanyahu last was PM of Israel so I know next-to-nothing of him other than he's way on the right, so I won't discuss the man himself. Still, about JJ's comic in itself, I got to say this is one of the most visually appealing I've ever seen on Filibuster. I just love the contrast betwee...

He's making reference to the "Hidden Agenda" campaign the liberals ran against Harper 2 elections ago. They were basically putting out adds that suggested Harper would enact all sorts of bills like banning abortion, reversing the gay marriage decision, etc. Of course it was all just false...

We could say our current government is closer to the methods of the former Bush administration (ironically), but I don't think we really could ever say we're further on the right until the day the Cons get a majority running a decidedly right-wing platform, if it happens. yeah..that ole hidden agen...

An excellent comic, JJ! I giggled when I noticed the lack of eyes in the second panel. To add my two cents about Canada being further to the right than the US... I would say that's inaccurate. Outside the Conservatives, all "major" parties in Canada (Greens and upwards) were more towards t...

I can't help but snicker that you've only drawn 15 senators there, JJ, haha.

Bush is (...) an ideologue . And this, good people, is the best word that could have been used. Not an idiot, not a complete moron, not a marionnette, just an ideologue who screwed things up by governing unilaterally too often. And that's something that could change now considering Obama appears to...

I do believe Obama will manage to keep the majority of the US population satisfied through most of his mandate. He won't be as flamboyant a president as many would wish, especially that he arrives in hard times, but he's a man who is capable of working with the opposing party better than at least th...

A truly worthless election that will probably prove counter-productive to the Cons since, as Zipperfish and Jabrwock pointed out, the Libs will have a stronger leader next time... it will take more of the Cons than just an okay, straightforward, "cruise-control mandate" for them to win a m...

That's a possible outcome, but far from a certain one. The public will not be of uniform opinion. Even if there are only two choices possible opinion may be divided 50-50, thwarting the will of 50% of the public. If more than two mutually exclusive options are available, the winning plurality may b...

I've claimed that "public property" inherently does not belong to everyone, but rather to a select few. How does this affect your stated ambition to " make all means of production public properties "? What, in your view, is the practical difference between the private operation ...

It doesn't require a dictatorial aspect to the institution running public property to limit the public's ownership of that property. My example of the National Forest Service certainly wasn't an example of dictatorship in practice. It only takes disputes over use of public property to demonstrate t...

That's literally impossible. It doesn't require wealth to be able to alter another's life. A severe beating could cripple a person for life, and requires nothing more than bare hands and malice. True enough. It's hard to explain my position properly without falling in complex run-on sentences nobod...

Haha, I can picture your disappointment, but still this makes me snicker. Nice call.
