The Wheat Board was never the "farmer's" as you state. And in the past generation the Wheat Board has existed for the benefit of the Wheat Board and the ruling government be they Liberal or Conservative.

I applaud his dissent if it is motivated for the right reasons which is that he is responding to the sentiment of the majority of his constituents. I don't much favour party politics and believe politicians should not vote their conscience or party's demand but rather the will of their constituents....
