Do you guys complain about all the Aussies who work in places like Whistler?

Aussies speak English and are mostly Anglo/Celtic people much like Canada is. Why complain about them?

You know you could just skip all the debating and say "WHITE POWER!" to get this over with.

In my opinion, Hello Kitty is not femine... its childish. i am not sure that the Thai police are trying to humiliate the officers as being feminine, just merely silly. The infractions they are being reprimanded for are things like littering or arriving late and really the police should know better....

Nothing you're saying makes the blatant feminising of a person with power right or justifiable.

I'm really surprised that I haven't been swamped with a bunch of anti-feminist rhetoric. Was I wrong about you, CKA?

And not being a western society isn't an excuse. Being enlightened towards equal rights among all humans is something all cultures should strive towards.

That's like saying "Saddam's rape chambers were fine...I mean..we're not talking about a western society here!"

To a lesser degree.

You seem like a smart woman, so I don't know why you need an explanation as to how feminising a police officer is disrespectful to women. It's saying that being feminine, being girly, the colour pink..which is traditionally a feminine colour is all a bad thing that should be laughed at and can be us...

Perhaps, but I don't think using something like hello kitty to humiliate them sends a good message to the general public. If they lack respect there are better ways to reprimand them, but that's neither here nor there. Fact is that it's a poor choice by Thai authorities and it in itself shows a gene...

I think you're missing the point.

Why do they need to be humiliated by being feminised?

Unless somehow hello kitty and the colour pink are not feminine in Thailand, which I highly doubt.

That's sends a nice message. Making macho cops wear something overtly feminine to punish them. Idiots.

why is it that more and more women are cutting their hair short? i've been noticing that women are getting these boyish hair cuts, instead of the traditional beautiful long wavy hair. now granted, there are some women that the boyish haircut looks good on, Victoria Beckum (sp?) comes to mind, but f...

I am a Canadian who has lived in the U.S. for the last 12 years. Before I moved here the only thing I knew about the NFL was learned from the first Ace Ventura movie. Essentially that Dan Marino was awesome. Anyway after watching hundreds of NFL games I still believe although the NFL certainly has b...

I happen to like smog and polluted air. City life, after all. Unhealthy? Yeah. But it's the message... "Welcome to The City..." Welcome to the Life... Welcome to the People... Welcome to the Noise... Welcome to... Living in a city doesn't have to mean unhealthy, noisy, etc. Ottawa for exa...

I like Toronto, but I'd never live there again. In addition to the 1st and 3rd largest Canadian cities I have also lived in the 1st and 3rd largest American cities. Suffice it to say I am very excited to be moving to a mid (by american standards) sized city - Ottawa, in 5 weeks. Mr. Canada your desi...
