What you see a lot (if advertised at all) are welders, truck drivers, heavy duty mechanics etc. These are jobs that don't make immigration easy, because most of the time, you can't get your required points, just because in this line of work, you learn on the job, not at university. Welders need to ...

Huge difference between immigration 50 years ago or more - and now! HUGE! PEople were proud to come here, people were grateful to have a new start and THEY are the ones who made this country what it is today - those who come today, feel they have more rights than we do and most "expect" it...

I agree with grainfed - and someone else who wrote in basic that when they settle, they won't convert to canadian ways or otherwise. When a Canadian moves from one province to another, they must inform themselves of the new provincial laws and status that they must follow - "but where I come fr...

mtbr - get out and live life man! ......."canada begins at the alberta manitoba border." This signature alone is highly discriminating - good grief, how can anyone scrutinize places they've never lived and people they've never met - clearly uneducated on the topic! AND according to those s...

Geesh, hard to tell we're all Canadians! At any rate, Alberta, did get lucky with it's natural resources - not all provinces were so lucky. Alberta's central location made for easy U.S. trade - it was so easy that our gov't had a hay day - sell, sell, sell and off to the bank they went - Alberta &qu...

with the alberta economy the way it is, moving defeats everything. Why move and pay triple for housing and fight 2 hrs of traffic to go to work and pay equal gas to what is spent out here? And in the past 6 months, we tried buying a property in SK - through our trusty bank of 7 yrs - who said "...

Like I said, when we moved to Alberta (Calgary to be exact) I thought that: where there is less population, that people would be kinder, more trustworthy, more neighborly, more friendly - man was I wrong And are you ever a PERFECT example! I was fortunate to hold an 11 yr contract in Calgary - the b...

I f a family has an income of over 100 000 it should be easy. "IF" being the key word and "if" is a small word with a vast meaning - and when was the last time you opened the paper? There is an abundance of jobs from $7-$10 an hour - and Calgary is but one place in this large pr...

but certainly they aren't stopping people from moving to Alberta to take advantage of it. Alberta has had to turn people away due to lack of places to live - (now there's an opportunity for builders) - prices sky rocketed high enough that it also created a rise in the numbers of the homeless. And u...

there is a huge difference between eastern and western mentality - huge!! (damn i'm in trouble now for tellin the truth) And pardon me for saying so, but, thank goodness the eastern part of this country brought technology to the western part - i know, i know, western canada is much younger than east...

So this gentleman comes to Canada to meet his mom, is tired, stressed, can't speak our language, has an anxiety attack, then what? What happened to make him throw a chair, was he starting to have a heart attack and couldn't get anyone to listen to him? And since he came off of a foreign plane, don't...

Cowards with gun straps broadened across their shoulders, tough guys with hardons - that poor woman, will be marked for life, her entire family shamed and she will be looked upon as trash and worse yet, mentally and physically marked for life - what am I talking about, she has no life, she is a walk...

weren't Pits brought over from Russia where they were used to ward off wildlife? Anybody know this answer? I don't have time to research it at this time, but if I remember correctly, that was their original use - to protect people. Curious, if anyone has the time to research it.
