Video DetailsVideo of the welland canal. the canal link lake erie to lake ontario, in canada. a series of 8 locks is needed to go from onelake to the other one. this canal is part of the st. lawrence seaway and is open to navigation from march to late december. 1 minute of video is 1 hour of real time, it takes about 7 to 11 hours to cross the canal depending of traffic and weather condition. the canal is parallel to the niagara falls.
