Video DetailsCanada has become the great country it is in part due to aviation. For the past 100 years, powered flight in Canada has helped Canadians travel from coast to coast, and ensured that our True North, Strong and Free has stayed safe and sovereign. Aviation in Canada began from the moment J.A.D. McCurdy made the first flight in Canada, flying the Silver Dart at Baddeck, Nova Scotia in 1909. In 2009, we celebrate the Centennial of Flight in Canada, and all that it has accomplished.Looking towards the future, Canadas Air Force is on the path to being more multi-purpose and more versatile than ever before with aircrew and support personnel who are among the best trained and best equipped in the world with state-of-the-art aircraft. In the next 100 years, the motto of the Royal Canadian Air Force Per Ardua Ad Astra, Through Adversity to the Stars, will continue to ring true. Canadas Air Force will stop at no lengths and no heights to protect what matters to Canadians. Permalink Share on Facebook |
