Count me as really surprised as well.

IMO, the Libs really did a good job of reviving people's memories of what previous ndp governments did to screw things up.

Check the results on a map, the NDP has the whole west side of the province and the majority of SE BC while the Liberals hold nearly everything else. Of course New Westminster will stay NDP......any change there would be a world shaking event...

Canadian_Mind Canadian_Mind:
Could this be a matter of overconfident NDP voters skimping on voting, while Liberals made voting a priority because it was a do-or-die situation with the poles being so close?

Maybe it's got more to do with an aging population that can remember like it was yesterday what the NDP did to this province back in the 90's or if it is a matter of overconfidence and their people not voting, they'll remember this day for the rest of their lives or at least till their union gets decertified.

I wonder how many teachers are gonna phone in sick tomorrow. XD

This is a clear indication that if the NDP ever hopes to form a government in this Province again, they're gonna have to become much more mainstream, distance themselves from the more radical unions and all let the Greens or Independents have all the batshit crazy antics.

Anybody got Moe's phone number I'd love to give him a call and congratulate him. [B-o]

NDPeeons. lol Canada's loser party.

it's good to see that BC came t.o their senses. Clark isn't a good leader but the NDP would have been the final nail in the coffin for BC.

I bet with a majority the liberals will soften their stance on the pipeline .

You can lay a lot of pipe in four years.

westmanguy westmanguy:
52 seats. They've gained 4 seats since 2009. This is comeback of the century in BC politics. All Christy detractors have to STFU (in the party) now. She's got the numbers.

which century? :P

Sam Sullivan looks tired.

Nope. Gateway is just shy of dead. Liberals would be retarded to push it through. I think they learned from the HST.

Hmm.

Knew the Libs would win my riding handedly. Didn't really think much of the situation provincially but I did have an assumption that NDP would win overall this round.

Don't count it out . I wonder how much opposition to it there really is. Tonights results are an example of how out to lunch pollsters are in BC.

Yes, look what happened with the HST..they gained four seats..create 50 000 jobs and gain 10 more seats.

Well considering I'm 23...

So much for the Calgary zoo's only option for getting a specimen in the cougar exhibit. :P

Christy Clark's riding is still interesting too. She's behind at the moment. It'd be ironic to orchestrate this kind of miracle but to lose her seat in the process.

History is a bit lost on you.

Gateway is ready for the fork. There is no appetite, natives environmental groups and citizens in the way will tie it up in the courts and Enbridge is spending lots of credit in its bed shitting campaign.

Better go east.
