Reminder that major CEOs have skyrocketed their own pay so much that the ratio of CEO-to-worker pay is now at some of the highest levels *ever* recorded.

Let that sink in. The profits are going strait to stock buy backs that further pump up the stock price. It's a closed loop.

Just since Regan.

Henry Ford got it right. If your workers can't afford the product they make, you are doing it wrong. If a carpenter can't afford a house, or if a waitress can't afford food, it's a failure of society.

They won't necessarily billionaires who score big on the upcoming affordability scams. But the development and housing bosses, who are all certainly millionaires, are going to make nothing but massive skrilla hand over fist when the feds, any province run by Liberals or NDP, and pretty much every city council in the country demand that new housing come with full net-zero anti-emission construction. So that means, depending on where the housing is being built and who is politically in control, you'll be looking at anywhere from an extra $50000 to well over $100000 per unit in added costs.

Hard to blame the opportunity-attracted rich guys from flooding in to exploit these sorts of situations when our retard-run governments literally hand away billions and billions of dollars to them in exchange for getting their fucking stupid ideological demands literally being built in to practically everything. And so much for the "affordable" housing part of the equation too because none of this shit is going to be even remotely affordable after all the special interests and party operatives have had their input included.

Government legislation is always going to be slower than tech and tech is also slower to adapt to society change. Both require real casualties in order to change the norms, that's why regulation of industry exist because some one (and usually many someone's) died as a result of lax regulations.

Climate change will make the planet uninhabitable for the majority of those who live on the planet. We need to get the change NOW and FAST or it is the planet that will become the casualty. Governments are moving far too slow and innovation from the tech center that has any real impact has no way to test in production because if we get to that point we are all dead anyway.

Arguing about millionaires and construction costs at this time is rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic if you are not focused at the root of the problem. Run away greed by the 1% is directly contributing to that lack of focus.

There is no 'check' to 'balance' the 1% so this is growing exponentially.

Correction, there is one but that requires the planet to be uninhabitable and as the sig of one of the mods on here state: He who dies with the most toys is nonetheless dead.

Well, with that kind of logic we might as well not bother building the new housing at all if all of us are just going to be dead anyway. And this insight, straight from the wettest of wet dreams of an ultimate nihilist, has been brought to you by the affluent children of Just Stop Oil.

Bernie Sanders is also almost as much on the side of Hamas as Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib are, and therefore should never be listened to by pretty much anyone.
