It doesn't matter whether we lead or not, we give a lot, and Americans have always tried to help other people.

I'll tell you a personal experience. Duriing Hurricane Isabel we had no electrical power for over 10 days. We did fine, but it was certainly inconvenient. The guys that repaired the power lines on our street were French-Canadian linesmen. We were very happy to see them, and they were very pleasant. I remember when a linesman was ready to put in the new power line fuse and say " you want electricity", and we all cheered. Power companies from all over came to restore power. R=UP

I like the idea and I think it's necessary and I would if I could but insurance and gas prices broke me big time to cover the needs in Florida so I'm going to have to play a little catch first .
To think that someone would think that we would give anything to the people who are causing so much trouble in the world as they dedicate their resources to mayhem rather than bailing out the idiots who built their houses on a hurricaine prone flood plain. FLORIDA yet, the state where Georgie claims to have sealed his dubious electoral victory and where his brother is governer. I think this whole hurricaine thing is divine justice on the freaks.
What a stupid post!

As if it's the individual victims' fault that they are at war or whatever else it is that you hate Americans for.

Complete ingnorance

Dude, that's a bit harsh. :?

#1. It's not the "people" in Florida who are at fault for GWB's Imperialistic agenda. I'm sure there are many who live their that feel the same way.

#2. It's the people that need to the help... not the government. It is unfortunate though, that the government feels the need to spend Billions of dollars on Military needs, rather than taking care of their own people. Getting these people back on their feet would be a drop in the bucket compared to the money spent on tanks and missiles.

#3. These "idiots" who built in hurricane prone territory cannot be faulted... unless they were stupid enough to not get insurance.

#4. Yes, I know... It was a stolen election. Again, can't blame the people... although it would have been nice to see the media do their job.

#5. Divine justice? A bit extreme me thinks. If a hurricane took out Air Force One with Bush, Rummy, Cheney, and a few others on board... then I would agree with you 100%. R=UP

Its actually not history ...don't get me started . Its got to be the most infuriating subject I can think of ... Although I feel for some of the people of the flood I think the state needs desperately to be nuked after we take it for everything it took from us . It has a massive debt hanging over its future and I don't think it deserves a future . end rant
