That could never be me, I find it absolutely horrid to wear short sleeves and a tie at the same time. Too McDonald Manager-esque for me.

LOL! Mormons look like they all work at McDonalds!

I thought it said something like 'Buttseks LOL', but I'm not really paying close attention right now. Enjoying my ginger snaps and reading the news.

tanstaafl

There ain't no such thing as a free lunch.

*Edit*

Googling it shows it may mean the All American Football League or, more probably, the Australina Alpaca Fleece Association.

Okay, I managed to avoid being knocked off by GreenTiger today, but I did hear a strange whistling noise go by my head at 10:46am... 8O

No, lets look at some of the members individually shall we.

We have a Canadian calibrator in our midst. One that was sent south of the border, was one of our agents, to prove or disprove the gathering threat. After several years there feeding us speculative information, he was recalled home. When he was debriefed it was discovered he came back with an American wife and requested to be settled in BC. At first glance he seems to be the "All Canadian prairie boy", he's a Roughriders fan and on the surface he seems quite patriotic, but the evidence is too strong. Robair, you cover is blown my friend!!!! We know you're a double agent!!! We know your "Wife" is actually your handler and you went to BC to take over the lucrative marijuana grow op's there to help fund Bart and others in there taking over of Canada.

More to follow, I'm digging a bunker in the basement to defend Rosie and myself against these imperialist dogs!!!........ They will never silence me!!!!!.....[door]

Now, one of the most diabolical of our "American Friends" here on CKA, Coaster_dot. The mild mannered young man who enjoys taking pictures at old abandoned malls and such places. Who worked this summer at the job that has been a life long goal and desire, an amusement park. He and his friends taking pictures of one another with silly faces and poses, what a wonderful summer experience. He hangs around CKA in the radio threads and the likes showing us his pics and such. What a nice young fellow.......WRONG!!!!

In reality he is one of the US's top instructors of covert operatives. Worked at an amusement park all summer? met great new friends and had a wonderful time? what a BS cover story, coaster. We all know that "amusement" park is a high tech training facility for deep cover operatives and that you, yes you sir, are in command there!!! All those cute little pictures of you and your "friends' with the funny faces, in actuality, those are your trainees practicing their mind control and hypnotic techniques for when they infiltrate Canada.

We know what your plan is now too, CD. Your little trip north of the border last year, a holiday? More like a scouting mission. Did you visit any of the amusement parks here in Canada while you were up? We know you did cause that's where your new operatives will be heading next summer. They will all miraculously get "summer jobs" at key places across Canada. They will just happen to work at the CNE, Klondike Days in Edmonton, the PNE in Vancouver and the Calgary Stampede, Why? You evil little man, their plan is to fuck up our summer holidays. You, and your like minded counterparts, know we get 10 months of winter up here and value those two months of warmth and good times above almost all else. They plan on destroying that for us, devastate our moral and will to fight........More to come..... [door]

There are several reasons I love this site.

1) I love Canada. I've been there more than a few times and I really feel
and appreciate the culture, the way people interact. that is the way people should act. I notice it more when I come back to the States. I feel something is missing.

2) Similar sites that I have found in the States aren't worth the time of day. I want to learn new things. There are times when I am wrong and there when I'm right. You can't lean anything from nut groups (not that everybody on this forum is 100% sane (inluding me).

3) There is some good natured ball busting at times, but on the whole if we did have one big convention where we did meet we would have a blast.

4) It's a lot of fun and you do have some very nice looking looking women art on here.

5) In spite of some of the avatars that I use I am an American Tory. Paul Revere was a snitch, G Washington, John Adams were trouble makers and the Continental Congress in 1776 should have been sent to a memtal heath facility. Ithink we The United Staes would have ended up a better country.

There probably other reasons, but those are the main ones.

I lived in Canada for several years. My daughter has dual citizenship. I like to read the daily news on CKA to keep up on day to day events that are happening in Canada. 99% of these events are not covered by the mainstream American media.

The forums on CKA are top notch. A broad political spectrum is represented. The education level on CKA seems to be far and above most forums these days. It can get heated, but usually a point is being made. Most political forums these days are full of trolls telling you to go pound sand if you disagree with thier views. After a while you forget what the thread was about. Then there are the forums that so heavily moderate that the majority of posts get deleted due to someone complaining. CKA offers one of the best political forums I have ever visited. There seems to be quite a few smart Canadian ex-pats, and service members that bring firsthand news and perspectives from around the globe on this site as well.

The history section on this site is a nice touch. I consider myself a history buff { select periods in time only}. The majority of my reading on history is byway of an American or European perspective. It is good to be able to browse the history section and enlighten myself on Canadian history. It is free, and I don't have to worry about returning books on time. That is my explanation of why I am here.

Agreed. A good dose of old school Toryism could cure a lot of ills. At a minimum it would have kept a lot of the kooks that are currently wrecking American conservatism under control.

I like the humor here. I registered about a year ago, but I haven't been here recently.

I'm an American, a Philadelphia native. I joined here because the Canadians I know are such nice, well read people, and I wanted to learn more about Canada, since I've never been there. I've got a friend in Ottawa I want to visit, when I can afford the air or bus fare and I can renew my passport. All of my impressions of Canada and Canadians are good.

1. I love Canada.

2. Canada is almost totally off the radar screen for most Americans. This site is my way of keeping an eye on you all.

3. I own a timeshare in Canada. Well, maybe that doesn't matter.

4. I am curious about Canada's quirky politics.

5. I was totally surprised when Canadians expressed such vitriol towards Americans during the Bush era. So, I had to come and see what was up. The Canada of my childhood was somewhat different.

6. This is a cool site for the slightly weird and quirky. Canada is kind of like visiting an alternate dimension. Seems the same but different. I am slightly amused by Canadian's sense of denial about certain Canadian problems. There is also a sense of innocence in international politics that is Canada. International politics for Americans is like dog poop that you can never get off of your shoe. Canadians are more like spectators, with all due respect to Canadians who have served their country in the Canadian armed forces and under British and American flags.

7. Canada is worth protecting, so I hope the Communist never take over. Back in 1966, when you could basically be arrested in U.S. for being Communist, I was at the Vancouver Expo and I started a big argument with the Communists at their exhibit. Oh boy, that was a scene.

8. If Canada ever decides to apportion it's true wealth to it's citizens, I might put in an application. Most Americans don't know about it... most Canadians don't seem to know either.

9. I love Canadian patriotism. For a long time it wasn't fashionable to be patriotic here in America. Now it's about 50/50. I root for Canadian athletes during the Olympics and of course enjoy hearing the Canadian anthem and flag raising just as much as watching American winners.

10. On this site, you all put on a great show. It really is entertaining.

If I was american, I would tell you " I don't have the slightest clue why I come here. I love you all, but I consider it a personal flaw in my character to keep coming back "
