Nice quote, but in the same vein I guess nobody should speak evil about Stalin, Hitler or Mao. Being dead doesn't exhonerate you from your past digressions and people shouldn't be asked to forget them just because you're deceased.

Not even Trudeau can escape notoriety, even dead and when Mulroney passes I'm pretty sure he won't be exempt from public scrutiny and opinion about his leadership just because he's dead.

It's the price people pay for being famous or in some cases infamous.

It wasn't intended as a historical analogy, since it's wasn't my intention to judge PET's place in history. For that I'll let history be the judge.

It was intented to make the point that dead or not your still subject to scrutiny, and scorn from your opponents. The use of phrases from a dead language doesn't change that even if Trudeau has passed from the ranks of the supposedly, defamed recently deceased.
