I was watching the Detroit game on tsn this fine evening (because all the good games were over) and it was a feed from ESPN. After watching these guys go on about what they thought they knew about a hockey game I felt really glad that we have good knowledgable comentators and analysist in Canada to call our hockey games. This is just another reason why Canada kicks ass.

I stand corrected. No noteworthy Canadian TV personality/announcer loves Canada or hockey as much as Don Cherry does.

I always wonder if Peter Jennings is a proud Canadian, I haer that he isnt even a US citizen! :D

And I hear that Dan Ackroyd turned down a big movie offer in the US to work on the CBC movie "The Arrow"! (Great show BTW)

Damn, looks like there are bigger Canadian patriots than me!

For sure and a good thing, no one could have done that role nearly as well as Dan. He played it with so much passion, it made the series.

On a seperate note, the Molson Canadian Bubba sharply dressed like Don Cherry also kicks ass

Ackroyd when asked to do Saturday Night Live a number of years back said he would only do it if the Tragically Hip were the musical performers. That is sticking up for your fellow Canadian's (well, not to mention they are apparently up there for his favourite band).

The Tragically Hip worrked on SNL?

One thing that does piss me off about CBC is that according to them, no team is better than Toronto...
