CBC did its list of best Canadians, and of course people thought there were a few important people missing. So I thought we should list our favorite Canadians and why. I didn't see the show so I'll probably list people who were on it.

Terry Fox - Youngest Companion of the Order of Canada, probably Canada's biggest symbol of heroism.

Pierre Trudeau - The reason we have the constitution at home with a charter of rights and freedom, despite the premiers best efforts to stop it.

The Rheostatics - Probably the most Canadian band you'll ever here.

Mordecai Richler - The flawed characters in his books gives me some hope. Plus his books are so good and funny.

Farley Mowat - More than any other identifiable individual, Mowat has been responsible for the remarkable change in popular attitudes towards the wolf. I mean, he even ate rats to prove a point.
