Thought you might enjoy this clip in honour of Canada's own Wiarton Willie!

I'll be glad when the brown footed ferret makes a full comeback, and wipes these fat pampered rodents out. Then no one will predict future weather based on a subjective shadow.

True enough. I just want these rodents taken care of by a 'professional'. ;) I see no reason to give them any news time, especially the amount they get this time of year.

Let's hope they don't wipe them out, or the black footed ferret will also join the ashcan of history.

There are only a few that get airtime. Not enough to affect the black footed ferret's food supply.

I think you'll have to go with a shotgun - doubt if black footed ferrets have access to the ones that get airtime. But you could dress up as a black footed ferret when you did it, if you want.

I wonder if a ferret could even take on one of those groundhogs - they're pretty big.

The Black footed ferret's main food is the Prairie dog, which is in the same family as the Groundhog, but a different subspecies which is quite a bit smaller.

MY point. I once came upon a marmot by the trail that wasn't going to move for me. I gingerly walked by it, aware that an animal that size could inflict some major damage with those teeth. Of course it was just tame and enjoying the sun. I wouldn't have worried about a prairie dog.
