I actually have another question. Are Canadians able to celebrate any holiday they want without some moron making a fuss over it because their religion doesn't recognize it? What I mean is, am I free to celebrate Christmas and other holidays I want? The reason I ask is because lately in America, their are all these people that are trying to make no mention of Christmas and other certain holidays cause there are some who don't celebrate it. If they don't, that's there business, but I believe we should celebrate any holiday we want without some jackass making a big deal over it. Not that I follow any religion, but hey, I like the holidays :)

Thanks for the responses.

Karhu_Leijona Karhu_Leijona:
I am from America, but I'm seriously having thoughts of living in Canada in the future, but I have a few questions.

1. Do they really have a great health care system?
2. Are all people in Canada treated equally?
3. What exactly is Employment Equity? I hear it is different from America's outrageously biased Affirmative Action.
4. What is the citizenship test like? I think I've heard it's 20 multiple choice questions, but I'm not sure if I've heard wrong or not.

I hope you don't mind me asking all these questions, but it's just that I hear so many great things about Canada, and America just doesn't seem to be the "Land of the Free" anymore. I'm really looking forward to visiting Canada someday.

Sure come upto the "Great White North" But be forwarned...
We have the same problems as the U.S as we learn from our big
Brother to the south.
Every big city will have it's darkside.Just have to know where it is.
We have our teens with nothing to do so they swarm in gangs and beat up on people just for kicks.
Teens with their expensive cars street racing killing themselves and other innocent people in the way
Lots of panhandlers looking for handouts. Some get very aggressive.
Since our population is so low we opened up our boarders eg. <China,India>
They have brought their problems here, and will even go to court saying that because of their religious beliefs their rights supersed our laws.
Come to Vancouver 2nd best city to live in the world, but alot of places you feel like you are the foreigner..no english spoken or advetisements in english.
Several Public schools have to post signs saying"English only beyond this point"
Lots of other stuff, but we Canadians just try to blend in and go with the flow"
Funny most of the Chinese say they don't feel safe here, because there isn't enough people especially when it comes to nighttime.
Oh yeah stay out of the parks after dark its not safe.
Anyways come up and most of us will do our best to welcome you..

Karhu_Leijona Karhu_Leijona:
So far, I'm thinking of living in Ontario. I read about two cities there (Windsor & Toronto). They both sound like cool places to live in. I'm still reading about Canada, and it may be a while till I actually move there, as it may be a bit costly. But I thought about living there since I was about 18. I'm 22 now and the idea hasn't left me.

Well, I have lived in both cities...

Windsor is kind of nice, but if you get to choose between the two I don't see any reason Windsor is better except for maybe the gorgeous waterfront parks. Torono has lots of cool stuff to check out.

You should probably try some other cities, like Quebec City, Vancouver, or anywhere in BC for that matter. There are alot of BEAUTIFUL places in Canada, but Southern Ontario is not one of them. :D Northern Ontario/Quebec/Manitoba is very beautiful, too... Alberta, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia.... all beautiful.... just not Southern Ontario. :P

If I could live anywhere in Canada, I would live in Victoria BC for sure!

We are not in the top 5 but we did save the world.
2. Are all people in Canada treated equally?
No
3. What exactly is Employment Equity? I hear it is different from America's outrageously biased Affirmative Action.
Employment Equity Act extends to federally regulated employers not to the general public.
4. What is the citizenship test like? I think I've heard it's 20 multiple choice questions, but I'm not sure if I've heard wrong or not.
Go practice
