Carrots contain betacarotene, which makes them orange. Betacarotene aids in the retention of Vitamin A in humans. Overdoses of Vitamin A turn human skin orange. So, if you eat enough carrots, you'll resemble one. Even moreso if you wear a green hat.
If you don't believe me, Google up a photo of the Boston Marathon from the '70s when all the runners were drinkin' carrot juice...ORANGE SKIN, the lot. It looked like a goddamn Muppet race.
