All you nay sayers read this and them bitch ya lame bunch...... :x

and who would those "nay sayers" be? Those that oppose the wars that Canada is involved in? The killing? This article has NOTHING to do with any of that. This article is about the generosity of Canadians AND americans WITHOUT having to blow the hell out of anything. Helping people peacefully. You know...humanitarian aid...... NOT at the end of a gun barrel. Something I know you and your ilk are hard pressed to understand.

You're lucky RH isn't around much anymore.............he'd have banned your account outright for that little ditty.

Something I wouldn't put past any of you. Miliary has no problem critizising those that oppose.....but has a hell of a time when on the receving end.

[font=Comic Sans MS]Nicely said dude! I agree we should all be grateful for what we have in Canada! Now to add a little bit if I dare and please be open minded about this! First Nations People were persecuted for their spiritual beliefs by the in-coming priests. They were also subject to bio-terrorism, rape of women and children by the Europeans, acts of arson after the railway came through which the natives, chinese and prisoners, all helped build. In later years, aboriginal people went overseas to help and fight for your freedom today--one of the most decorated soldiers was Tommy Prince!

Then in todays world they are still persecuted based on lies that the general public hear and believe! Furthermore, check out central BC in what is known as "Highway of tears," where several young aboriginal women have gone missing or showed up murdered. To all the whiners out there, especially if you are a shallow, right-winger be grateful for your greedy arse because the aboriginal people have paid dearly for what you can take for granted in Canada!!

I met Jack Chaing here when he gave a speech at Queens. He sums up my feelings exactly. We live in the greatest country in the world.( we just don't brag about it enough) we live with diversity and geographical challenges and we argue alot.. but in the end we stay together against all odds.. Thats what makes us great. Necro or not, its good to play it again :)

This thread has been necroed from 2002 to 2007, and now a second time in 2009.

Its a good example how some topics are somewhat timeless.

Absent blowing the hell out of Japan this particular Chinese family may not be alive at all.

Absent blowing the hell out of the Chinese and North Koreans they may well have not had Hong Kong to flee to when they needed it.

Absent the military that delivered that aid under the watchful eyes of immense firepower these people would've certainly starved.

No different than the fact that much needed humanitarian aid around the world is still delivered by soldiers backed with devastating firepower.

People like you want the military to go into Darfur and if that happens then the first thing that will take place is that the military will bomb the beejeezus out of the janjaweed to put an end to those vermin and then the aid will be safely delivered.

Otherwise the vermin will just steal the aid.

Okay. Yes we in English Speaking North America (I'll include Quebec in this) are very fortunate. The freedoms that exist here that we take for granted what other people dream about. We are a beacon of light to the rest of the world.

We may disagree and argue about politics and approaches. We can do this knowing we won't get the door kicked in at 2:00Am by the Secret Police as is occurs in other parts of the world.

These freedoms and cultures were not Free or Cheap. They were bought with the blood, toil tears and sweat from wars to keep it that way in a number of wars.

I am very pleased to be in North America especially when I read about what is happening in less fortunate parts of the world.

Whether it is Canada or The States we are fortunate to live here.
