Im prolly older than a lot of you here, and have had the chance to travel around the world a few times...Having been all over Europe and the Middle East i can easily say we have the greatest life style here in Canada of any one , any where...I was in Holland once and was having a drink in a small local pub. At first they thought I was a...Merikan... But once I told the bartender/owner that I was a Canadian, the first jug of beer was on the house....we got to talking and my military service came up....I served with the Black Watch... An old man of about 70 walked up to me and gently kissed me on the cheek and said "Thank You Canada" and went back to his table.. the owner then told me that the old fellow had been liberated from the Nazi's by a rifle platoon of the Black Watch near the end of the war..I was nearly moved to tears and was never so proud to be a Canadian as right then and there..If ypou travel proudly wear a Canadian Flag on your back pack or clothing, you'll see the doors it will open for you and the welcome you will get from many people

Wow! thanks for the post! that was a great story.
And its so true! I have been lucky enough to travel to many places around the world and the wearing a canadian flag thing is no myth. People in foriegn countries I think assume your American, so you get the "american treatment" but soon as they find out your Canadian, its a whole different world. No wearing patriotic Canadian clothing in the states is a different story  I remember at Disney World in Florida once i walked around prodly dislpaying a Canada Kicks Ass T-shirt, you wouldn't beleive the stares and comment I got. I didn't care though. Anyone else have experiences like this? I always bring my patriotic Canadian gear to the states, its great fun 8)
