Not to mention...once the tax cuts are implemented, governments usually borrow money to maintain minimal services. Thus the government borrows money ( & we all know what happens when the government borrows money) to sustain itself. Then after the next election, guess what. they have to raise taxes. You might want to search out the deficits and debts of governments after elected governments have lowered taxes. Reagan is the perfect starting point. Mulroney got caught mid term and brought in the GST. If Bush gets elected, even the Republicans realize that 2006 there will have to be a tax increase. In reality we end up paying more in taxes to cover the interest of the tax "break" we were given.

I was going for the Federal Gov. giving the tax cut... Since they don't need all that money for the sponsorship. Good point, I get to see both side of the medal. Just a small flaw... The tax cut was 2 bucks a month.. so that makes it 20,000 a month, that was a well paid snow driver. :)

I misread that. Of course having got a couple of these massive tax breaks they hand out, the two bucks a year is likely more realistic anyway.

How come nobody caught my multiple spelling of plough/plow? You guys are slipping.

Rev ( as you observed in risk  ) chose to ignore it ...both forms are acceptable. Besides I'm old enough to remember when plough was the prefered spelling.

Avro Avro:
On simpler terms Mr. ideology, take money from one place and put it in another and tell me how that change will stimulate the economy enough to create one single solitary job. I would also like you to give me one, just one example of this theory being true.

There were/are a lot of other forces at work in Ireland though, Third Eye. Everything from decreased domestic violence to very targeted economic/tax plans. it is hardly an example of simple tax cuts for the rich driving an economy.
