The question is, why wouldn't this happen to pot as it does to cigarettes or alcohol.
So how is showing that pot, alcohol, and cigarettes are all the same help your case that just one of the three should be illegal?

we have a problem with two substances so we should throw in a third?..we don't need any more legal drugs.
So freedom's only necessary when you need something?

Being drug-free at will is freedom.

It's not if you're forced to be drug free. You can't impose freedom on other people, it just doesn't work.

As an aside, I can't stand pot - I hate the smell of it, I hate using it, and I absolutely cannot stand being around people who are using it. I hate it more than I hate cigarettes. That's still not a good reason for it to be banned, though.

I guess when looking at "rights versus privilege" I think using marijuana is a right, and for those who are religious a God given right.

Go ride yer bike...

Legalization or decriminalization is coming whether the Puritans want it or not. These antiquated dinosaurs sound like a modern day prohibitionist and we all know what happened there. But, hey, can you imagine if someone treaded on their rights?
