Testing the new editorial/article commenting system.

Great article bootlegga, thanks for being the first to submit to the new Editorials section.

An absolutely fine editorial, bootlegga.

Just one thing: The MCDVs are too slow, too small and too lightly armed, IMHO.

I'd like to see them replaced with something around 1400 tons, having a top speed at least seven or eight knots higher and with a modern 57mm gun.

Such vessels wouldn't have to be very expensive and would provide more usefulness to the Navy, especially if provision were made for a greater variety of those bolt-on modules.

Thank you, Streaker.

I agree that the MCDVs are too slow and poorly armed, but for coastal patrol, that's not really an issue unless a war starts. Alternately, I suggested the Norwegian Skjold class patrol boat, which is very fast and well armed.

Looks interesting. I would recommend purchases from fellow arctic countries, as we know ice...

Those Skjolds look very impressive indeed. If they aren't too expensive to build or operate they (or something using similar technology) might make a fine successor to the Kingstons, although I don't know if they could serve quite the same purpose - If it's strictly coastal patrol we're talking about then there's no doubt they would be a major improvement on the Kingstons, but I'm wondering if something a little more mundane and utilitarian might not still be preferable.

What's the point? The lieberals are going to win the next election anyway and continue their raping of the military for another decade or two until the cons are accidentially elected again.

 Try reading you moron. Bootlegga goes into length about how Martin was doing quite the opposite.
